Business development executive with 24 years in information and communications (ICT) solutions and technology.  Mr Vizzard has had a broad range of experience with start-ups and mainline IT and telecommunications technology companies.

Through 11+ years at IBM Corporation, Gabriel, helped shape and form early Internet/Java ISV partner alliances, created new methods for managing software as a service (SaaS) and provide market breaking wireless broadband infrastructure solutions.  He was an early sponsor of the Wireless Internet Institute (W2i).  Before and after IBM, Mr Vizzard has served in a variety of business development, marketing and engineering strategy roles with start-ups involved in software and radio network products and services. Through his experience with start-ups and with IBM he has come to know and understand the IT investment community in the Silicon Valley, the United Kingdom and in France.

Today Gabriel is helping end customers realize greater benefit from their IT budgets through hosted business applications and utilizing telecommunications vendor partnerships.  Also, Mr Vizzard is working with a variety of semiconductor and mobile application developers to determine routes-to-market and leverage new business models for developing and delivering mobile industry devices and applications for consumers and enterprise markets. 


Mr Vizzard received his BA degree in Communications Studies from the University of California, San Diego, one of the highest ranked universities, public or private, in the United States.  He spent three years in a post graduate program in Communication Studies at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, Canada, where he studied global telecommunications economics and policy.

Born in Oakland, California, USA, Gabriel Vizzard is a veteran of internet, information technology and telecommunications industries, having started with telecommunications policy and economics at graduate school followed by software, hardware and services sales in Europe and worldwide for IBM to wireline and wireless service providers and other industries. 

Mr. Vizzard is currently a director of Technovation International Ltd of Ireland and Canada providing consultation for international business development and management.  Previously, Mr. Vizzard served as board director and Chief Marketing Officer then CEO of LastMile Communications Ltd, a British telecommunications industry start-up.  At LastMile he restructured the millimetre wave radio and distributed content management software products, manufacturing and third party developer agreements.  LastMile provided WiFi and V band radio products which delivered rich media content services at the point of consumption.

Gabriel Vizzard’s last major role at IBM was as the global leader for IBM’s wireless broadband solutions.  Gabriel’s team successfully launched a range of solutions to communications and public sector customers in all of the three major geographies around the world and quadrupled its annual wireless and wireline infrastructure solutions sales over a period of three years.  Many of these projects involved mobile employee and municipal wireless solutions, especially content management services.

Earlier on at IBM Gabriel managed partner alliances, created the first ISV partner programs for Java and the internet then joined IBM headquarters working as a key member of the highly successful technical and go-to-market e-business strategy team.  He is recognized by IBM as an accomplished senior level IT architect as well as Business Development and Market Management Executive.

Prior to working at IBM, Gabriel served in a variety of IT industry positions both selling and creating solutions.   In between stints at graduate school Gabriel was a video producer and writer in the public sector.
